The Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8) enables families to acquire modest, decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing by utilizing existing units in the local rental market. Families are able to choose a unit suitable for their individual needs in the jurisdictional area of the Housing Authority. Families pay 30% of their adjusted gross income for rent and utilities.
